Using PatSavvy

These Terms of Service govern your use of PatSavvy, provided by PatSavvy Inc. By creating an account, claiming a conference offer or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these terms. Use the service only if you can enter a binding agreement, or are authorized to act for your organization. You are responsible for your account, accurate contact information and activity under your credentials.

PatSavvy helps you search, organize and analyze patent information. It does not provide legal advice, establish freedom to operate, determine validity or infringement, or replace advice from a qualified professional. Public patent data, ownership, classifications, translations and legal status may be incomplete or outdated. Verify material conclusions against official records.

Free and Premium

Visitors may try the displayed search allowance without an account. Free accounts receive the displayed monthly search allowance and one editable workspace within the displayed patent allowance. Free search allowances reset at the start of each calendar month in UTC and do not roll over. A new successful query counts as a search; pagination, sorting and refinements of that query do not consume another. Failed searches do not count.

Premium includes Atlas, advanced research, AI, bulk exports and unlimited commercial usage of the included features for normal interactive patent research. Unlimited does not remove request-rate protections, provider availability limits or per-operation limits. For example, an export supports up to 10,000 patents and an AI comparison supports up to eight patents at a time. Automated scraping, reselling service access and uses that impair the service are not included. We may apply reasonable protective restrictions and will provide a way to contact support about legitimate high-volume needs.

Subscriptions and payments

Premium is CAD $99 per month or CAD $990 per year, before applicable taxes, unless your checkout expressly states another agreed price. A paid subscription renews at its selected interval until canceled. Checkout displays the amount and any applicable tax before you authorize payment. Stripe processes payments; PatSavvy does not store full payment-card details.

Manage your payment method, invoices and cancellation through Manage billing in your account. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal, with access continuing to the end of the paid period. A failed or overdue payment may suspend paid access. Unless required by applicable law or agreed in writing, paid periods are not prorated or refundable. Contact billing@patsavvy.com promptly about an incorrect charge, duplicate purchase or refund request. Statutory cancellation, refund and consumer rights always take precedence.

We will give reasonable advance notice of a material price change before it affects a renewal. You can cancel before that renewal. A future price change does not alter an already paid period.

IP Deal Makers conference offer

Eligible new and existing Free accounts may claim three calendar months of Premium through an available conference batch. The period starts when a verified account successfully claims the offer. One conference redemption is allowed per account. Each batch has its own capacity, deadline and enabled status, displayed on the offer page. A QR scan by itself does not reserve a place.

No payment method is required and the offer does not automatically start a paid subscription. When the offer expires, your account returns to Free unless you explicitly subscribe. If you choose to subscribe during an eligible conference period, checkout will show when billing begins. Existing paid subscribers should contact billing@patsavvy.com before claiming; the offer does not automatically change or credit an existing subscription.

Your saved research is preserved on downgrade. Choose one qualifying workspace to keep editable on Free. Work above the Free allowance remains read-only until you reduce it to the allowance or regain Premium. You can still remove or delete your own saved work. We may disable unclaimed offers or revoke access obtained through fraud or abuse, without charging you for the free offer.

Your research and AI features

You keep ownership of research, notes and other material you submit. You give PatSavvy the limited rights needed to host, process, display and export that material to provide the service. Only submit material you are entitled to use. Public patent records and third-party material remain subject to their owners' rights and applicable source conditions.

AI features may send the selected patent material, instructions and relevant research context to an AI provider to produce the requested output. Read the Privacy Policy before using those features with sensitive material. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsupported; review the underlying evidence and do not rely on it as professional advice. Do not submit privileged, confidential or regulated information unless you are authorized and the service is appropriate for that use.

Acceptable use and service changes

Do not attempt unauthorized access, evade usage controls, share or sell credentials, introduce malicious code, violate intellectual property or privacy rights, or disrupt the service. We may investigate abuse, restrict an affected feature or suspend access where reasonably needed to protect users, comply with law or address a breach. Contact support@patsavvy.com to request a review.

We may improve, change or discontinue features. We aim to give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce a paid service and a practical opportunity to export saved work. Availability depends on underlying data and providers; uninterrupted service or a particular research result is not guaranteed. You may stop using the service at any time and request account closure through support.

Responsibility and limits

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available, without a guarantee of completeness, accuracy or suitability for a particular purpose. You are responsible for your research decisions and for keeping copies of important work. Neither party excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable consumer rights.

To the extent permitted by law, PatSavvy Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost opportunities arising from use of the service. Our aggregate liability relating to the service is limited to the greater of CAD $100 and the subscription fees you paid to us in the preceding twelve months. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

Changes and contact

We will post updated terms with their effective date and provide reasonable notice of material changes affecting existing accounts. Where consent is required, we will request it. Mandatory rights under the laws applicable to you remain unaffected; if one provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
